Biographical Information[edit]

David Castillo has played for Pinar del Rio.

Castillo hit .309/.408/.417 in a utility role in 2007-2008, fielding .966 while playing all three outfield spots and the three infield spots other than first base. He stole 3 bases in 11 tries and hit 7 triples, tied for 4th in the Cuban Serie Nacional. He faded to .252/.350/.358 as a part-time shortstop in 2008-2009, fielding .940. He hit .312/.400/.450 in 2009-2010, led the league with 25 errors and was third with 14 sacrifice hits.

In 2010-2011, David played 56 games at short and 25 at second; he put up a .278/.354/.444 line and led the circuit with eight triples. He helped the team win its first title of the 21st Century - in the clinching game six against Ciego de Ávila, he went 3 for 4 with a homer, two runs and two RBI in a 6-1 win.
