Davenport Quads

From BR Bullpen

Between being the Davenport Pirates in 1949 and Davenport Tigers in 1951 (and being the affiliate of the major-league teams with the same names), the Three-I League team in Davenport, IA was an independent entity in 1950 and was called the Davenport Quads as Davenport is one of the "Quad Cities". Managed by Gene Hasson, the Quads finished last at 49-75-1; they were the only nonaffiliated club in the 8-team league. Attendance was strong as they drew 90,584 fans, fourth-best. They were 7th of 8 teams in both runs (566) and fewest runs allowed (742). Dick Hoeksema (9-8, 2.91) was around 5th in ERA while Hasson, playing first base, was one perhaps the top offensive threat at .291/~.467/.478 with 95 walks.
