Biographical Information[edit]
Dave Wissman played 16 games in the majors for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 1964. He mainly played left field, competing for playing time against the young Willie Stargell, Manny Mota, Jerry Lynch and Bob Bailey. Dave also played seven years in the minors, of which three were with the AAA Columbus Jets. In his last year in the minors, he played in the Detroit Tigers organization.
His time at the University of Bridgeport overlapped with that of pitcher John Papa.
He played for the Grand Forks Chiefs in 1962 and Toledo Mud Hens in 1967.
