Biographical Information[edit]

Dave Tokheim played in the minor leagues and CPBL.

Tokheim was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the 7th round of the 1991 Amateur Draft, and he hit .323/.361/.475 with the Batavia Clippers in his first year. He had a .235/.296/.326 batting line for the Clearwater Phillies in 1992, then he improved to .329/.390/.407 in 1993. Tokheim also played 65 games with the Reading Phillies in 1993, and he hit .292/.323/.405 with 6 triples. His eight three-baggers tied Tom Marsh for the lead among Phillies farmhands.

He had a .301/.345/.457 batting line with 13 homers for Reading in 1994, tying for 6th in the Eastern League with 6 triples and finishing 7th in average (between Jeff Barry and Alex Ochoa). He reached AAA in 1995 and hit .271/.302/.420 with 11 homers for the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Red Barons in 1995, but he slumped to .212/.257/.294 in 1996. The Mercuries Tigers of Taiwan signed him in 1997, and Tokheim hit .304/.363/.411 in 32 games. He recorded a .285/.343/.454 in his last season as a pro player for the Madison Black Wolf in 1998.
