Biographical Information[edit]

Dave McKeough played in the majors in 1890 and 1891. His minor league career went from 1885 to 1893.

McKeough was from Utica, NY, and played for Utica in 1885-1886. As a major leaguer he was primarily a catcher and shortstop, playing in the American Association.

"Since war has been declared again among the base ball magnates, we have lost several of our best men who played on the Rochester team of 1890. Calihan and McKeough, our pony battery, have signed with the Athletics . . . " - Sporting Life's Rochester correspondent, February 28, 1891

'Through the fracture of the National Agreement, the Wagner brothers will be saved quite a lump of money - something like $2600 - which they were to have paid for the releases of Calihan, McKeough and Corcoran. New Haven and Rochester are kicking like steers for the money, but their kicks will go for naught now that the National Agreement - under which alone payment could have been enforced - is a dead letter to the American Association." - Sporting Life, March 7, 1891
