Biographical Information

Dave Edler played for the Seattle Mariners from 1980 to 1983, getting between 28 and 40 games each year. In his best year with the bat, 1982, he hit .279. He was in the minors from 1978 to 1983, hitting over .300 at the AAA level in both 1982 and 1983.

Following his baseball career, Dave returned to Yakima, Washington, where he grew up, and became a pastor. After serving two years on the Yakima City Council, he was elected mayor in 2006.
