Biographical Information[edit]

Catcher Dave Burroughs was selected by the Kansas City Royals in the 13th round of the 1975 amateur draft, one round before Randy McGilberry. He played his only pro ball that summer, hitting .125 in 8 games with the GCL Royals. He was head baseball coach at Cowley County Community College from 1988 to 2019, winning 1,301 games during that span. He had been assistant at Bacone College (1983-1984) and Northeastern State University (1985-1986). His brother, Darren Burroughs, was an assistant coach during much of his time at Cowley.
