Biographical Information[edit]
Second baseman Dasher Troy, who stood 5 ' 5 " tall, played five years in the major leagues. His most notable year was 1884, when he moved to the American Association and appeared in the semi-equivalent of the World Series with the 1884 New York Metropolitans.
The previous year he had played with the National League 1883 New York Gothams, a team which also featured Mickey Welch. When Troy died in 1938, Welch was the only member of that team to outlive him.
After the majors, Troy played for Binghamton, Scranton, Manchester, Wilkes-Barre, and yes, for Troy.
