Biographical Information[edit]

Darren Kirwin was 3-2 with two saves and a 6.23 ERA for the Adelaide Giants in the 1991-1992 Australian Baseball League, fanning 29 in 26 innings and allowing a .189 average (well ahead of league leader Graeme Lloyd). The problem was 24 walks issued. In 1992-1993, he improved to 2-1, 3.37. He was on the Australian national team for the 1993 Asian Championship and 1993 Intercontinental Cup. In the latter event, he was 1-1 with a 5.40 ERA. He lost to Masatsugu Takiguchi and Japan then beat Mexico's Edmundo Gracia.

He fell to 3-6, 5.93 for the East Coast Cougars in 1993-1994. He wrapped up back with Adelaide in 1994-1995 at 1-5, 5.48 with three saves. He had gone 9-14 with 5 saves and a 5.17 ERA in 55 Australian Baseball League games, 16 of them starts.
