Darren Colby
Darren Grant Colby
- Throws Right
Biographical Information[edit]
Darren Colby was on the South African national team in the 2001 Baseball World Cup. He had a challenging debut against a Team USA with several future major leaguers but managed okay. Relieving Ashley Dove in the 4th with a 4-0 deficit, he went 1 2/3 IP (1 R, 2 H, 2 BB, K) before giving way to Ruan Klink. His only other outing came versus the Dominican national team and was not as good. Replacing Dove again, this time in the 7th, he allowed a Carlos Shaw double and a Victor Ramirez single to drive in at least one inherited runner and make it a 15-5 mercy rule loss. His 5.40 ERA put him 5th on the ten-man staff. [1]
