Biographical Information[edit]

Darrell Richardson spent one season in the pros.

Richardson was 10-6 with a save and a 2.92 ERA at Rice in 1992. He made All-Southwest Conference and tied Pat Ahearne for 14th in NCAA Division I with 127 strikeouts (in 129 1/3 innings). He fell to 10-5, 5.11 in 1993 but struck out over a batter per inning. He also was a kicker and punter for two years at Rice.

Darrell pitched for the independent Lethbridge Mounties in 1995, going 5-4 with a 5.00 ERA on a staff that was otherwise 20-43. He fanned 85 in 84 2/3 innings. He tied for 8th in the Pioneer League in wins, was second in strikeouts (6 behind Casey Kirkman) but tied Jake Remington for the most hits allowed (106). He later was pitching coach at the University of Texas at Tyler.
