Darel Torres pitched in the minors and for the Mexican national team.

Torres was signed by the Texas Rangers. He pitched two shutout innings for the 2016 DSL Rangers 2, facing the minimum. In '17, he was 3-2 with four saves and a 1.99 ERA for the DSL Rangers 1, walking only 5 in 49 2/3 IP. Making his winter ball with his hometown Cañeros de Los Mochis, he allowed four runs in 1 1/3 IP. He then went 2-3 with 6 saves and a 2.83 ERA for the DSL Rangers in 2018. He tied for 10th in the Dominican Summer League in saves.

In 2019, he was 3-0 with two saves, .81 ERA and .94 WHIP for the DSL Rangers 1. Despite a 1.98 ERA in his minor league career, his time in the Rangers system was over. Struggling for Los Mochis again in 2020-2021 (1-2, 4.60), he made his Mexican League debut in 2021, with a 5.40 ERA in seven relief outings for the Tigres de Quintana Roo. He was 1-0 with a 2.81 ERA in the winter.

With the 2022 Tigres, he was 7-4 despite a 5.69 ERA. He was 3-2 with a 2.93 ERA as a solid starter in the winter. In the 2023 Caribbean Series, though, he was 0-1 with a 9.45 ERA for Los Mochis, losing to Alex Sanabia and the Indios de Mayagüez. He was 6-6 with a 4.10 ERA in the summer, striking out 100 in 85 2/3 IP. He led the Liga in whiffs, one ahead of Manny Barreda.

Darel then made Mexico's team for the 2023 Pan American Games. He did a fine job, throwing 5 2/3 shutout innings and whiffing eight for the Bronze Medal winners. He tied Edwin Adón for third in K.
