Biographical Information[edit]
Daraka Shaheed has been a minor league player and a scout.
Shaheed was picked by the Houston Astros in the 31st round of the 1983 amateur draft. He hit .191/.342/.225 that summer as a backup infielder for the GCL Astros. In 1984, he batted .282/.387/.383 in 86 games for the Asheville Tourists; he was used in a utility role. He later was a professional scout for the Chicago White Sox, helping recommend the acquisitions of Simon Castro, Gavin Floyd, Jhan Marinez, Ozzie Martinez, Nestor Molina and José Quintana.
