Dany González was 5-11 with 19 saves and a 3.78 ERA in 126 games and 5 seasons for Sancti Spíritus through 2007-2008. In 2008-2009, Dany went 2-1 with four saves and a 3.03 ERA in 27 games. He was involved in a notable at-bat on December 24. With his club down 3-0 in the first, he was summoned by Juan Castro to pitch to David Remedios. Unfortunately, he was the one healthy scratch on the 27-man Sancti Spíritus roster. Before he could throw a pitch, Industriales skipper Germán Mesa came out to argue that the game was a forfeit due to the entry of González. Castro then asked González to stall for time. After 85 minutes, Dany was finally allowed to pitch to Remedios, who he struck out on three pitches to forfeit the game to the Industriales.
