Biographical Information[edit]

Danni Aguilera tied Cuba's single-season save record in 2011-2012.

Aguilera was 0-2 with 6 saves and a 4.69 ERA for the Pineros de Isla de la Juventud in 2005-2006. In 2006-2007, he was superb, going 4-0 with four saves and a minuscule 0.99 ERA in 15 games. Through that season, his 6th, he was 21-21 with 39 saves and a 4.30 ERA in six campaigns in Cuba. In 2007-2008, he was 4-3 with three saves and a 4.09 ERA.

In 2008-2009, Aguilera was 2-2 with 10 saves and a 2.83 ERA. He tied Yormani Socarras for 5th in the league in saves. He was solid again in 2009-2010: 6-6, 7 Sv, 3.14. In 2010-2011, Danni was 3-6 with 15 saves and a 2.70 ERA, finishing third in saves behind Duniel Ibarra and Socarras.

Aguilera went 3-4 with 27 saves and a 2.17 ERA in 2011-2012. He tied Ibarra's one-year-old Cuban record for saves in a year, finishing five ahead of Ibarra in 2011-2012. He registered his last save of the season on April 17 but Isla de la Juventud lost 3 of their remaining 4 games and won the other one in a blowout.
