Biographical Information[edit]

Daniel Tiburcio pitched four seasons in the minor leagues, the first three under the identity of Jorge Paulino.

Signed by the Atlanta Braves in June 2007, he was 0-1 with 3 hits, 3 walks, 7 strikeouts and 3 runs (one earned) in 7 innings for the DSL Braves that summer. In 2008, he was 1-1 with 15 runs and 23 walks in 11 2/3 IP for the same club. With the DSL Braves in 2009, he excelled at 2-2, 1.20 with 8 saves and a 0.73 average. He fanned 49 but walked 28 in 30 innings. On July 11, he finished a combined seven-inning no-hitter of the DSL Rangers 2, started by Luis De Luna. After sitting out 2010, he was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2011, now going by the Tiburcio name. He was 1-2 with a save and a 4.34 ERA in 18 games for the DSL Blue Jays, with 37 strikeouts in 29 innings. In four seasons, all in the Dominican Summer League, he had gone 4-6 with 9 saves and a 3.82 ERA in 59 games (8 starts). In 77 2/3 IP, he allowed 51 hits (a .185 average) and struck out 109 but also walked 71 and threw 15 wild pitches.
