Daniel Hayes

Daniel Hayes has played shortstop and pitcher in Canada and Europe.

He played college ball at Oklahoma Baptist, going 8-2 with a 2.82 ERa and hitting .384 with 89 RBI his last year. He then played for the Canadian Intercounty league. While with the London Majors of the Intercounty League in 2007, he had an ERA of 7.77 over 24 1/3 innings pitched with a 2-2 record. In 2008, he played for the Mainz Athletics of the Bundesliga, where he batted .291/.459/.309. He scored 17 runs and six RBI's in 15 games for Mainz. On the mound, he had a 2-3 record with an ERA of 7.17 and one save. He struck out 25 in 37 2/3 innings, and walked 20. He was released in late May.

He was acquired by the Arvernes de Clermont-Ferrand in the winter of 2008, only to be traded to an Austrian club at the start of the 2009 Division Elite season, in late March.
