Daniel Harris (minors02)
Daniel Harris
Biographical Information[edit]
Daniel Harris played in the minor leagues from 1927 to 1929. Beginning as a first baseman, he hit .274 with 132 hits and a single home run in 131 games for the Wichita Larks in 1927. He then switched to the outfield and hit .310 with 37 doubles, 11 triples, 19 home runs and a .618 slugging percentage in 107 games for the Providence Grays in 1928 and .348 with 23 home runs and a .674 slugging mark in 82 games for the same club in 1929. Overall, Harris hit .306 with 361 hits, 86 doubles, 23 triples and 43 home runs in 320 games over three seasons.
At least, that's what his Baseball Reference record says. Per a website dedicated to finding information on pre-World War II minor leaguers, major leaguer Dave Harris' statistics have been misattributed to Daniel Harris, and Daniel Harris actually played for the Dover Senators in 1926, Wichita in 1927 and the Beaumont Exporters in 1928.[1] That would make this Daniel Harris and the subject of this article one-and-the-same.
