Biographical Information[edit]
Dan Phelan played for the Louisville Colonels in 1890. He was a resident of Waterbury, CT, where he played for several years before and after his brief major league career.
The personal information long listed next to Phelan's playing record in Baseball Encyclopedias is erroneous, as it relates to a different man with a similar name. In 2010, SABR researcher Richard Malatzky found Phelan's descendant and the correct information regarding the ballplayer.
