Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Dan Opperman was selected by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the first round of the 1987 amateur draft. In the 1986 World Junior Championship, he hit .412 while going 0-1 with a 1.08 ERA for the USA, which won the Bronze Medal. He spent the entire 1987-1988 seasons on the disabled list before making his pro debut with the 1989 Vero Beach Dodgers. He then spent half of July 1989 on the DL.
