Biographical Information[edit]

Damon Oppenheimer was picked by the Milwaukee Brewers in the 18th round of the 1985 amateur draft and had an unimpressive minor league career, going 0 for 17 with 3 walks, 5 strikeouts and 3 runs in 12 games for the Beloit Brewers that year. A catcher, he backed up that year's #1 draft pick, B.J. Surhoff.

Oppenheimer was the farm director of the New York Yankees in 2001-2002, v.p. of major league scouting in 2003, and the director of player development in 2004. He has been the Yankees' Scouting Director since 2005.
