In 1989, the Chicago White Sox & Houston Astros & Texas Rangers joined forces to sponsor one team in the Dominican Summer League. They were 33-25, second in the eastern division behind the DSL Royals. The Rangers would field a full DSL Rangers team in 1990 and the Astros would eventually field a full DSL Astros squad in 1991. The White Sox would send players to co-op teams until finally fielding a full DSL White Sox team in 1999.
