The Kansas City Royals and Chicago Cubs teamed up to sponsor the DSL Royals/Cubs in 1991. They would add the Colorado Rockies in 1992 to form the DSL Royals/Cubs/Rockies. The team was 27-45 to finish last in the Cibao Division. Amaury Telemaco played for them.
