In 1998-1999, the New York Mets replaced their DSL Mets team with two clubs in the Dominican Summer League. In 1998-1999 they sponsored the DSL Mets 1 and in 1998 they also had the DSL Mets 2. In 1999, however, the Mets 2 were supplemented by players from other teams, resulting in the DSL Mets 2/Co-op.
