Curtis Thigpen was signed by the Toronto Blue Jays and scout Andy Beene as the 2nd round pick in the 2004 amateur draft.
In the minors from 2003-2007, Thigpen hit .280. He was the youngest position player on the Blue Jays in 2007. He played mostly catcher and first base for the team. He ended his career at age 25 after the 2008 season. He hit .229/.289/.297 in his major league career.
Born in Texas, he was a four-sport star at Forney High School and then went to the University of Texas, where his team went to three College World Series in a row. Huston Street, also on the team, is a good friend of his.
