Biographical Information[edit]

Starting pitcher Craig Westcott pitched in the minor leagues from 2009 to 2013. He was taken by the San Francisco Giants in the 30th round of that year's draft and was signed by scout Andrew Jefferson.

He was 7-0 with a 2.49 ERA in 14 games (7 starts) split between the AZL Giants (7 G, 4-0 W-L, 0.69 ERA) and Salem-Keizer Volcanoes (7 GS, 3-0 W-L, 3.26 ERA) in 2009, striking out 63 batters in 43 1/3 innings. On August 22 of that year, while with Salem-Keizer, he started what would become a no-hitter against the Everett AquaSox. He was relieved by Brandon Graves, who was in turn relieved by Wilber Bucardo.

In 2010, he was 9-3 with a 3.46 ERA in 26 starts for the San Jose Giants (13 GS, 6-0 W-L, 1.83 ERA) and Richmond Flying Squirrels (13 GS, 3-3 W-L, 5.13 ERA). Due to his performance with San Jose, he was named to the California League Mid-Season All-Star team that year. He was again a California League All-Star in 2011, after going 13-4 with a 3.42 ERA in 25 games (24 starts) for San Jose. He was named to both the Mid-Season and Post-Season All-Star squads.

With Richmond in 2012, he was 11-10 with a 4.09 ERA in 28 starts and, again with Richmond in 2013, he was 5-12 with a 4.19 ERA in 27 starts. The Giants released him following the 2013 season and the Miami Marlins signed him, though he never played in their system.
