Biographical Information[edit]

Count Sensenderfer was born in Philly, died in Philly, and played baseball for Philly. He played for the Philadelphia Athletics before professional baseball began, and he played for the Athletics in the National Association. He started decently in 1871, hitting .323, but struggled after that. He also umpired a total of 13 games in the National Association between 1872 and 1875.

He had joined the Athletics in 1867 after having been with the Olympics. After his baseball career, Sensenderfer was involved in politics, serving two terms as Philadelphia County Commissioner and was also an active member of the Democratic Committee of Philadelphia as well as the Pennsylvania Democratic State Committee.

He holds the record for most career at-bats without a walk by a non-pitcher.
