Biographical Information[edit]
On July 4, 2010, Cory Aldridge appeared in in the major leagues with the Los Angeles Angels. It was the first time he had surfaced since October 2001, an equally brief stint with the Atlanta Braves. He had played 14 years in the minor leagues - over 1,300 games - around his two call-ups to the Show. He made his final big league appearance one week later. In 2009, he spent the entire season with the Omaha Royals and was named Omaha's Player of the Year. He had 170 lifetime home runs in the minors at the end of that season, along with 98 stolen bases. He played with the Nexen Heroes for 2011, going 0 for 4 with three strikeouts in his KBO debut. Cory's father, Jerry, played for the San Francisco 49ers in 1980 and in the USFL in 1983.
