Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Connor Gillispie was drafted by the Cleveland Guardians from the Baltimore Orioles in the minor league portion of the 2023 Rule V Draft. The Orioles had selected him from Virginia Commonwealth University in the 9th round of the 2019 amateur draft. It was thus fitting that when he made his major league debut with the Guardians on August 4, 2024, he was facing the Orioles. He pitched the final three innings of a 9-5 loss, giving up one run on two hits.
