Biographical Information

Connie Morgan was the third woman to play in the Negro Leagues. Signed by the Indianapolis Clowns as a replacement for Toni Stone in 1954, Morgan played with the team for two years. Before her tenure with the Clowns she played for five seasons with the North Philadelphia Honey Drippers, an all-girls baseball team, batting .368 in that time.

After baseball, she returned to school, earning a degree in accounting from the William Penn Business Institute, and then working for the AFL-CIO for two decades until her retirement in 1974. She was inducted in the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame in 1995.
