Biographical Information[edit]
Cody Schultz has played for the German national team.
He hit .473 as a high school senior and was All-State twice in high school. [1] He enrolled at Dixie State then transferred to Regis, hitting .278 as a freshman. He was redshirted in 2019 then batted .243/.263/.378 in the COVID-19-shortened 2020. He hit .278/.374/.441 in '21 and .375/.477/.608 in '22 with 40 runs in 38 games.
Playing for Germany in the 2022 U-23 Baseball World Cup, he batted .200/.407/.320, fielding .958 and serving as their main second sacker. [2] In the 2022 World Baseball Classic Qualifier, he sat out the opener while Lucas Dunn played short then started at short in Game 2, hitting 8th against South Africa. He singled off Kieran Lovegrove his first time up and reached all three times up (plus a sacrifice bunt), scoring one and driving in another. In the elimination game, he was 0 for 2 versus the Czech national team before Eric Brenk batted for him. [3]
