Clinton Paul pitched one game for South Africa in the 1998 Baseball World Cup, Relieving Royals farmhand Barry Armitage, he closed out a 9-2 loss to Japan, allowing only one run in four innings (4 H, 3 BB, 4 K). Only Glen Morris had a better ERA for South Africa in the event and Paul tied Mark Van Noordwyk for 3rd on the team in strikeouts despite only being 6th in innings pitched.
