Cliff Kachline
Clifford S. Kachline
Cliff Kachline was a baseball researcher and one of the original members of SABR. For 24 years, he was a writer and editor with the Sporting News when it was known as "the Bible of Baseball", then for 14 years served as official historian of the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. He was particularly concerned with the exactness of baseball records and spent most of his efforts in establishing correct totals for years when statistical records were compiled lackadaisically.
He was posthumously honored with the Henry Chadwick Award in 2011.
