Biographical Information[edit]

Clayton Lambert pitched nine seasons 1937 to 1948, three in college, two in the Major Leagues and five in the minors, losing three years to the Military. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II (BN). After attending Illinois College (1937-1939), three years seasoning in the minors and his Military stint, he pitched for the Cincinnati Reds (1946-1947) and then returned to the minors. In 1941, he was 21-6 with an ERA of 2.21 with Ogden in the Pioneer League. He then worked as an inventory specialist at the Ogden, UT Defense Depot. He died at age 64 from cancer at his home and is buried at Aultorest Memorial Park in Ogden UT.
