Biographical Information[edit]
Claudio Solano started out in pro ball with 7 games for San Diego Padres in the Pacific Coast League in 1945. He played in the Mexican League for seven seasons from 1948 to 1961. He hit .300 with 48 homers and a .438 slugging percentage in 560 games. From 1954 to 1958 he played for Cananea and Nogales in the Arizona-Texas League and Arizona-Mexico League. In 1954 for Cananea, he hit .394 with 47 homers and 188 runs batted in, in 1956 he hit .386 with 45 homers and 174 runs batted in, and in 1957, his last season for Cananea, he hit .402 with 41 homers and 159 runs batted in.
He played in the Mexican Pacific Winter League for 5 seasons from 1958-59 to 1966-67. In 1958-59 he hit .440 with 5 homers in 15 games, and for his MXPW career he hit .251 with 17 homeruns in 118 games.
He was elected into the Salon de la Fama in 1983.
