47 years after the previous professional club from Clarksville, TN, the Clarksville Coyotes. They were 31-41 that first year back, in the 1996 Big South League. Managed by Nate Colbert, they had the lowest attendance in the league (31,287) and had one All-Star, 3B Tony Gonzalez (.359, a league-leading 25 doubles, .541 slugging, third in average). Jeff Rhein hit .341 and stole 31 bases. Managed by Jeff Bibb the next year, they were 32-39 in the Heartland League and drew 30,877, 4th in the 8-team loop. George Lovett (5-6, 2.99) led the staff while Shawn Nasin (.287) scored the most runs in the league (58). They did not return in 1998. The Coyotes played home games at Raymond C. Hand Park.
