Biographical Information[edit]

Chung-You Tsai was an infielder in the CPBL who got kicked out of the circuit during a gambling scandal.

Tsai was 1 for 3 with two walks for Taiwan in the 2002 World University Championship, backing up Chiang-Ho Chen at second base. He was selected by the La New Bears in the second round of the 2005 CPBL Draft. Tsai made his CPBL debut in 2007, hitting .138/.194/.138 in 15 games and fielding .952. He hit .239 and .270 as a backup the next two years, respectively. On November 19, 2009, Tsai and teammate Ying-Feng Tsai (no relation) were kicked off the Bears team for admitting to recruiting players to throw games for gamblers. The two Tsais returned one million New Taiwan dollars in illegal gains.

Overall, Tsai hit .242/.318/.274 with 52 hits in 4 seasons in the CPBL.
