Biographical Information[edit]
Chun-Wei Chiu has played in the CPBL and for the Taiwanese national team.
Chiu represented Taiwan in the 2021 U-23 Baseball World Cup. The Rakuten Monkeys drafted him in the second round of the 2021 CPBL Draft. [1] He had a 3.09 ERA in 12 relief outings in 2022, but he slumped to a 5.96 ERA in 19 appearances in 2023.[2] Chiu then represented Taiwan in the 2023 Asia Professional Baseball Championship. He started against Australia in the Bronze Medal game, and he pitched 4 innings with only a run allowed due to Christopher Burke's RBI double. Taiwan won Bronze thanks to Tien-Hsin Kuo's walk-off hit.[3]
