Wang represented Taiwan in the 2006 World Junior Championship; he only had a .179 average, but collected 5 RBI and the winning RBI against Cuba. He made it onto Taiwan's roster for the 2008 Haarlemse Honkbalweek. He was 2 for 12 but blasted a homer in that event. He also participated in the 2008 World University Championship, and recorded a 1 for 10 performance with 2 RBI. The best amateur catcher in Taiwan then played in the 2010 Haarlem Baseball Week, 2010 World University Championship, 2011 World Port Tournament, 2011 Baseball World Cup, and 2012 Haarlem Baseball Week. He backed up Kuan-Wei Yang in those events, so he didn't get many at-bats. He was 0 for 7 in the 2011 World Cup and 0 for 2 in the 2011 World Port Tournament for instance.
The Brother Elephants drafted Wang in the first round of the 2012 CPBL Draft, and he soon secured the starting catcher spot on the team in the second half of the season. He batted .247/.287/.306 in 72 games, and was selected to the 2012 CPBL All-Star Game as a rookie; he was 0-for-1. However, the talented catcher suffered from spine injuries, and only played 84 more games over the next six years, and retired after 2019 season. Wang then became the battery coach for the CTBC Brothers.
Overall, Wang hit .240/.279/.323 with 84 hits in 5 seasons in the CPBL.
