Biographical Information

Chun-Chieh Chen pitched in the CPBL for 2 years.

Chen represented Taiwan in the 1993 World Junior Championship. He was signed by the Wei Chuan Dragons in 1998, and he had a 4.20 ERA in 6 appearances in his rookie year. He pitched 1 1/3 shutout innings in the 1998 Taiwan Series, and he won his only title as the Dragons beat the Sinon Bulls in 7 games. Chen was the only Taiwanese pitcher to play in that series. He allowed 3 runs in 2 innings in 1999, then he announced his retirement.

Chen’s repertoire included a fastball, changeup and curveball.

Overall, Chen was 0-0 with a 5.29 ERA, pitched 17 innings and struck out 14 in 2 seasons in the CPBL.
