Biographical Information

Chuck Anderson spent 43 years as a part of the Florida Southern College baseball program. He came to the Mocs in 1958 as a first baseman and pitcher. Twice during his playing career he was named team MVP. After graduating he became an assistant coach under Hal Smeltzly. In 1984 he replaced Joe Arnold as the teams head coach.

During his 20 year coaching career he complied a 843-251-1 record. He would bring the team to the post season 17 times, winning at least a share of the Sunshine State Conference 12 times as well as 3 Division II College World Series. He won 3 National Coach of the Year awards, six South Region Coach of the Year awards and 8 Conference Coach of the Year awards. Anderson is a member of five Hall of Fames. He was selected for the Florida Southern Baseball, Florida Southern Sports, Polk County (FL) Sports, Sunshine State Conference and American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fames.

Anderson also worked with United States national team. He was an assistant coach on several teams (including in the 1990 Baseball World Cup) and head coach of the 1994 squad, which played in the 1994 Baseball World Cup.
