Biographical Information[edit]

Chub Aubrey played only one season in the majors, as the regular shortstop for the Boston Beaneaters in 1903, batting .212/.264/.249 in 96 games. For thirteen years prior to that, one of the great shortstops of the 19th Century, Herman Long, had held down the position, but 1902 was his last year with the Beaneaters.

Aubrey was with Syracuse from 1907-1910 and had also played for Scranton in 1906. Sporting Life gives the boxscore for a game played August 4, 1908 between the Scranton Miners and Syracuse Stars of the New York State League. Aubrey played shortstop for Syracuse in the 15-inning 1-1 tie and batted seventh; Snake Wiltse was the pitcher. For parts of 1911-1913 he was with the Worcester Busters of the New England League.
