Christoffer Johansson debuted in the Elitserien when he was just 14 years old. In 2003, the 15-year-old went 2 for 9 for the Karlskoga Bats. During 2004, he hit .132/.230/.161, seeing fairly regular action; while overmatched at the plate, he had six outfield assists in twenty-one games.

In 2005, Johansson produced at a .287/.393/.369 rate for the Bats. During 2006, the teenager hit .314/.373/.447 and had 7 outfield assists in 22 games in center, emerging as a fine player. In 2007, he batted .346/.434/.464 and scored 42 runs while driving home 29. He finished 4th in the league in runs and tied for 10th in RBI. He led the league with 33 steals in 36 tries.

Christoffer made his debut for the Swedish national team in the 2007 European Championship, going 0 for 2 in five games as a backup outfielder.

For Karlskoga in 2008, Johansson hit .316/.448/.461 with 31 RBI and 41 runs. He was 7th in the circuit in RBI and third in runs behind Dennis Kelly and Peter Johannessen. He stole 29 bases in 31 tries to lead the league in swipes. Used primarily at catcher, he threw out 9 of 31 attempted base-stealers.

Johansson is on Sweden's preliminary 40-man roster for the 2009 Baseball World Cup.
