Biographical Information

Dennis Kelly has played throughout the European baseball circuit.

Kelly was a college star, setting Austin College records for average (.436, 2005), hits (65, 2005), doubles (15, 2006), runs (34, 2005, then 46 in 2006). He was a NCAA Division III All-American West Region in 2006.

Kelly came to the Swedish Elitserien in 2008 with the Karlskoga Bats as a player-coach. He batted .521/.567/.848. He alternated between center field and shortstop. He led the Elitserien in average (.035 over Magnus Pilegård), slugging (.003 over Eunique Johnson), home runs (6, tied for the lead), triples (6) and runs scored (50).

For 2009, Kelly moved to the French Division Elite with the Montpellier Barracudas. He finished as the Hitter of the Year in France with a .411 batting average and .607 slugging percentage. He finished second in average, tied for second in slugging behind Ernesto Martinez, was 3rd with 29 runs, led with 44 hits, tied for 3rd with 23 RBI, led with five triples and tied Kenji Hagiwara for the most steals (20).

Kelly's European journeys continued in 2010 with the Mannheim Tornadoes of the German Bundesliga. In his first at-bat in Germany, he homered off Boris Bokaj in a 8-1 loss to Regensburg. Kelly went on to win the 2010 Bundesliga South, Hitter of the year. In his first year in German baseball, he led the German statistics not only for OPS, but also in slugging percentage (.708), runs (39), walks (23) and Stolen Bases (19). He also was in the top five in hits (48), doubles (10), homeruns (6), and batting average (.425).
