Biographical Information[edit]
Chris Walsh was a minor league player for three years. He debuted in 1951 with the Lawton Giants, batting .272. The next year, he spent most of the season with the Moultrie Giants, hitting .220/~.282/.320 and briefly appeared for the Muskogee Giants, going 7 for 28 with two walks and no extra-base hits in 11 games. He finished his career with the Oshkosh Giants in 1953, hitting .246/~.437/.292 in 19 contests, drawing 22 walks while backing up at first base.
Personal Remembrance[edit]
Chris Walsh was an outfielder / first baseman for the Class D Oshkosh Giants of the Wisconsin State League. Chris was somewhat above average height for that time, and of a slender rather wiry build. He had black hair. I believe his home state was New Jersey. He may have been left-handed in both throwing and hitting, but I am not certain. Chris played with the Giants for about 4 or 5 weeks, and then was either re-assigned by the Giants to another team, or released. I am not sure if this was his rookie year, or if he had played pro ball previously.
