Biographical Information[edit]

Chris Sedon was picked in the 2009 amateur draft.

Sedon spent two seasons at junior college. In 2008, he was MVP of the Atlantic Collegiate Baseball League after hitting .346 and slugging .546. He transferred to Pitt for 2009 and starred, hitting .402 and setting school records for homers (22), total bases (160) and runs (65) in a season. He also slugged .796 and drove home 62. The home run record had previously been 19, shared by Brant Colamarino and Joe Lydic. Sedon, a second baseman, was named a first-team All-American by Louisville Slugger, only the third Pitt player to be so honored, after P.J. Hiser and Jim Negrych.

Sedon was picked by the Detroit Tigers in the 10th round (300th overall) of the 2009 amateur draft, but was unreachable as he was having dental work done. He hit .137/.221/.165 in 49 games for the 2009 Oneonta Tigers with 57 strikeouts in 139 AB. He fielded .983 at second base, one positive.
