Biographical Information[edit]

Chris Schwinden was drafted by the New York Mets in the 22nd round of the 2008 amateur draft. He was signed by scout Doug Thurman and made his pro debut that summer.

Schwinden made his MLB debut in a doubleheader. All four starting pitchers in the doubleheader were rookies - Mike Minor, Dillon Gee and Julio Teheran joining Schwinden. Such a feat had not taken place for 46 years.
