Biographical Information[edit]
Outfielder Chris Bourjos is the nephew of big leaguer Otto Denning and cousin of Pat Denning, catcher in the New York Yankees chain. His son, Peter, made it to the majors in 2010.
In the minors from 1977 to 1983, Bourjos hit over .300 at several stops. He hit 27 homers in his first professional season, but never came close to matching that total afterwards. He played in the organizations of the San Francisco Giants, the Philadelphia Phillies, and the Baltimore Orioles. His 13 major league games came with the Giants in 1980.
He has been scouting since 1983. As of 2012, Bourjos is a scout for the San Diego Padres, having previously scouted for the Milwaukee Brewers. He is given credit for finding Roy Halladay.
