Biographical Information[edit]
Chin-Ping Lin played in the CPBL and for the Chinese Taipei national baseball team.
Lin represented Taiwan in the 1996 World Youth Championship, 1999 World Junior Championship, 1999 Intercontinental Cup (hitting .250/.348/.350 with two runs and two RBI in seven games as Taiwan's DH), 2000 Haarlemse Honkbalweek, 2002 World University Championship (0 for 4) and 2004 World University Championship. He was selected by the La New Bears in the first round of the 2004 CPBL draft. Lin hit .235/.277/.329 in his rookie year, but didn't get many chances then. He only played 31 more games in the CPBL majors, and the league banned him because of a gambling scandal after the 2009 season.
Overall, Lin hit .209/.259/.284 with 44 hits in 3 seasons in the CPBL.
