Biographical Information[edit]

Chih-Yu Lin played in the CPBL for 6 years.

Lin was drafted by the Lamigo Monkeys in the 8th round of the 2016 CPBL Draft, and he hit .224/.300/.308 in the minors in 2017. He improved to .321/.370/.524 in 2018, and he made his CPBL debut against the Fubon Guardians on April 26. Lin crushed a homer in his first career at-bat against Ming-Chin Tsai, and he was the only player ever in CPBL history to crush a homer in his first at-bat in both the major and minor league. However, since the Monkeys had several star outfielders, Lin only got 4 at-bats with the big club in that season. He slumped to .226/.253/.355 in 2019, and his batting line was .241/.308/.362 in 2020 and .229/.331/.314 in 2021 in the minors. He announced his retirement after hitting .284/.376/.387 in 2022.

Overall, Lin hit .125/.222/.500 with one hit in 2 seasons in the CPBL.
